Corn Nuts Asked Twitter Wheres The Craziest Place Youve Nutted

Brands will do just about anything these days to get clout on social media. Many of them even subscribe to that old Trumpian marketing philosophy of any publicity is good publicity (even if it’s bad).

Some brands, like Wendy’s, have succeeded immensely by using a lot of snark in their tweets, while others, like PlayStation, have succeeded through tremendous engagement with their fans.

Other companies have struggled, like when IHOP tried “changing their name.”

And then there’s Corn Nuts.

I don’t even know what category to put the latest Twitter effort by Corn Nuts under. Here, take a look.

“Where’s the craziest place you’ve nutted, I mean ate corn nuts,” they asked.

I mean… is that a good tweet by a brand? Or should someone be getting fired today?

I guess, based on the 103,000+ Likes and 31,500+ retweets, that these days it qualifies as a good tweet.

That being said, whoever published this tweet in behalf of Corn Nuts had better have had the company’s wholehearted approval to do so, otherwise they were really rolling the dice with that question.

Naturally, since the tweet has gone viral, there have been some very impressive responses. And by impressive, I of course mean juvenile and comical.

Then there was this odd interaction between Corn Nuts, Steak-Umm and a very unhappy Twitterer.

Outrage… it’s what’s for breakfast.
