‘DMX Is Not Dead’ Rapper’s Manager Posts Video Update After False Reports Circulate On Social Media

There was a bit of confusion on the health status of DMX, who is currently in a coma after reportedly suffering an overdose.

On Thursday night, streetwear account SAINT posted a tweet claiming the rapper had died that went insanely viral.

SAINT deleted the tweet and explained that they reported DMX’s death after a family friend claimed the rapper had passed on Instagram.

DMX’s manager Steve Rifkind took to Instagram to post a video to clarify all the confusion.

Please stop posting, DMX is still alive, he is on life support but please it’s not helping anybody by having these false rumors.

Update: DMX died on Friday afternoon as confirmed by his family

X’s team shared a statement with XXL this morning: “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. H55e loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brot55her, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.”
