Malika Andrews’ coverage of Alabama’s Brandon Miller rubbed some viewers the wrong way during the NBA draft.

Before Miller was drafted #2 overall by the Charlotte Hornets, Andrews spoke about his connection to a fatal shooting in Tuscaloosa involving his former teammate Darius Miles.

In court documents, police say Miller delivered a gun to Miles that was then used by another man to murder 23-year-old Jamea Harris. Miller was never charged with a crime and continued to play basketball at Alabama.

On Thursday night, Andrews asked a panel on ESPN during the draft how teams are factoring the court case while evaluating him, and fans were not happy about it.

Some fans defended Andrews and blamed ESPN for bringing up the case during the draft.
