Man Gets Fired From Subway. Then The Homeless Woman Outside Subway Reads His Palm—And Reveals Something Shocking About His Future

This man kinda gamed the system at work but in a pretty ethical and low-stakes way, but his manager didn’t see it that way. Instead, he ended up getting fired on the spot.

In the midst of a terrible day, a woman read his fortune. You’ll never believe what she told him. Now the man is calling on others to try and verify if this fortune will come true.

Fired Over Some Stamps

In a trending TikTok with more than 182,000 views, content creator Scott (@scottonline1) shared why he got fired from Subway. Scott explains that he was 16, and his dad had told him to get a job. He says he happened to walk into a Subway where someone from his school was managing the place, so he applied and got hired.

The job itself was pretty standard, but the owner was strict about portion sizes, according to Scott. He says he would make them refer to the official guide that called for things like four tomatoes and eight olives per sandwich. When the owner wasn’t around, Scott says he made them the way customers actually wanted.

“I was tired of people saying, ‘Could I get more olives?'” he says.

But that’s not what got him fired.

Subway had a loyalty program at the time. Customers collected stamps, one per 6-inch sub, and a full card got you a free sandwich. Scott started asking customers if they wanted their stamps. If they said, “No,” he pocketed them. Over time, he says he built up a sizable collection. One night, he says he was out skating with friends who were hungry, so he handed out the cards, and they all got free subs at a different Subway location.

The next day, he says he went to pick up his check, and his boss was waiting.

“He comes back and he’s holding like all these cards,” Scott says. He says his boss had gotten a call from the other location. “He’s like, ‘Did you steal from me?'” Scott recalls.

Scott says he pushed back, explaining he hadn’t stolen the stamps. He says he’d asked customers if they wanted them and taken the ones they left behind. The owner wasn’t hearing it, according to Scott. “‘You’re fired,'” Scott recounts.

His Fortune Turns?

There was a homeless woman named Kate who was always stationed outside that Subway, whom Scott says he had gotten to know over the course of working there.

When he walked out, freshly fired, he says that Kate asked if he could grab her some chips. He says he told her he’d just gotten fired.

“‘Do you want me to tell you your fortune?'” she asked him, according to Scott.

“She’s like, ‘Scott, don’t worry about this situation,'” he recalls. Then she told him that when he got older, he was going to be rich and was never going to die.

“You are going to live forever,” he says she told him, studying the lines of his palm.

He ends the video by inviting palm readers in the comments to weigh in on his hand as he shows the palm to the camera.

The Original Sub Club

The stamp card Scott was collecting from wasn’t some obscure local promotion. It was Subway’s Sub Club—the chain’s original loyalty program, which ran for years before being quietly discontinued about 20 years ago.

Subway brought the Sub Club back in December 2025, rebranded as a modernized version of the original. According to Restaurant Business Online, the new program gave customers a free footlong sub after purchasing just three footlongs or six six-inch subs—one of the most generous loyalty offers in the fast food industry. Franchisees were not happy. One operator, when asked about it, said, “F that. The basic concept is fine. The execution is 100% bullshit.” The concern was that customers could stack the rewards on top of already-discounted orders, making the economics even worse for store owners.

While Subway brought the program back at the end of last year, dissenting franchisees representing more than 5,000 Subway locations signed a petition against it, and once again, the generous loyalty program got shut down.

Starting April 1, 2026, customers can no longer earn free footlong subs through the Sub Club, Tasting Table reported. The program is being converted to a pure points system. Earn points per dollar and convert them to Subway Cash.

Customers weren’t happy about it either. On Reddit, reactions ranged from confused to annoyed, with many pointing out that Subway has been raising prices while the quality of its sandwiches has reportedly declined. Without the free sub incentive a lot of people are questioning why they’d choose Subway over any other sandwich spot.
