Actress Florence Pugh was the subject of some controversy over the weekend when she was hit in the face by some kind of object thrown from the crowd at CCXP 2023 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Pugh and other actors from the upcoming film Dune: Part 2 were posing for photos on Sunday when the incident occurred.

Video shows the Black Widow actress standing between co-stars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler and Zendaya when something comes flying through the air, striking Pugh around her near the right eye.

Unfortunately, the clip which has been making the rounds on social media cuts off just as Florence Pugh bends over the pick up the object, so it’s unclear exactly what it was that hit the 27-year-old in the face.

Numerous media outlets reached out to Pugh and her representatives for comment, but so far none have received a response.

Florence Pugh getting hit in the face with a thrown object from the crowd is just the latest in a series of similar incidents.

Earlier this month, Taylor Swift stopped one of her Buenos Aires concerts to ask fans not to throw things.

“It really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage, because if it’s on the stage then a dancer can trip on,” she told the crowd.

Last year, a Argentinian soccer player was carried off the field on a stretcher when he was hit by a fish thrown from the stands.

In June, Bebe Rexha was struck in the face by a cell phone thrown from the audience during one of her concerts.

Also in June, country music star Kelsea Ballerini was hit in the face by a thrown object while she was on stage performing.

Harry Styles was also hit in the face by a thrown object while performing in Vienna in July.

That same month, Cardi B threw her microphone at a fan in the audience at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas after an audience member threw a drink at her.
