A woman was left unimpressed by their visit to Florida's Bovine Steakhouse in Winter Park. Here's why they were disappointed.
As part of the Magical Dining experience, one woman had high hopes for Florida’s Bovine Steakhouse. But she was left with a nasty taste in her mouth—and not just from the food.
The best way to cook a steak is a skill that is hard to perfect. However, like LongHorn Steakhouse and Outback, it seems like this restaurant has yet to perfect its method.
In a video that has garnered 16,100 views, TikTok user Princess (@princesspierre_) starts the video by saying, “Come with me to get catfished at Winter Park, Magical Dining edition.”
“I don’t remember who recommended this spot to me,” she says. “But they clearly hate me.”
As she pans the camera around the restaurant, she goes into detail about the food. She describes the soup as not being fresh and having a “terrible” texture. As for the fish, she says, “I’ve never sent a fish back in my life, but this one was horrible.” She also described the filling inside her food as “old and mushy” and dubs her mashed potato as “strange.”
“But the kicker was this steak,” she adds. As she zooms in on the dish, the steak looks considerably well done.
“This was the worst meal that I’ve had in a very long time,” she concludes. “Even the dessert tasted freezer burnt. I took the steak home for my dog. It’s safe to say that I won’t be back.”

Not A Unique Experience
Commenters shared similar experiences.
“We ate there Saturday for the first time and we won’t be back either,” one wrote. “Our server was great but the food wasn’t good.”
“We made the same mistake 2 weekends ago and it was horrible,” a second added. “It took 45 minutes for us to get our bottle of champagne we ordered. It was right about at 1 hr after ordering to get our appetizers and the food wasn’t fresh nor was it good tasting.”
“There was a produce sticker in my salad,” a third said. “I’m not picky but come on…”
Similarly, a fourth shared, “OH MY GOD WAS IT AWFUL. I got invited here for a friend’s birthday and honestly I would have felt less offended if she had spit directly in my face. And they ran out of the one dessert that sounded good. This place is the Daejon Love of fine dining, but worse because I didn’t even get to take a picture with a helmet.”
What Do Reviewers Think Of The Bovine Steakhouse?
Over on TripAdvisor, the Bovine Steakhouse has a total of 25 reviews, with a 3.8/5 star rating.
In turn, for the most part, most reviews are positive.
“The food and service exceeded all expectations,” one wrote. “The food was excellent, fresh and prepared to specifications. Chef Nate was attentive to every detail. My entire family enjoyed every aspect of our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and would return in a heartbeat.”
A second added, “This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time! I didn’t expect it to be so good that I didn’t take any photos! Boy was I wrong! The prime rib sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had! My husband’s eggs Benedict was perfect!”
However, there were a few notable outlier reviews.
For instance, a third reviewer summed it up as being “mediocre and expensive.”
“We went on a Saturday night with a large group and sat at a nice round table,” they described. “Service was very slow. Steaks were undercooked or overcooked and we were not impressed. Appetizers were very small and not enough to share. Desserts were nothing to write home about.”
