Well, it was only a matter of time, I suppose. Krispy Kreme, the same folks who have given us Nutter Butter, Oreo and Chips Ahoy! doughnuts, Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg doughnuts, and Homer Simpson’s favorite doughnuts, will now be combining two of the most important morning breakfast staples: coffee and doughnuts.

For National Coffee Day, September 29th, and the week that precedes it, Krispy Kreme will not only be unveiling their new Coffee Glazed Doughnut, they will also be introducing their tasty new Original Glazed Coffee.

That’s right. A doughnut that tastes like coffee and coffee that tastes like a doughnut. It’s like someone out there actually heard our prayers.

Even better, the Original Glazed Doughnut in a cup will become a new permanent item on the menu after the ultimate week of coffee celebration.

And even better than that, you can snag each of these coffee and doughnut concoctions for FREE next week.

Yep, you can grab a FREE Krispy Kreme coffee, any size, on National Coffee Day, September 29th, at all participating locations. No purchase necessary! Plus, just to sweeten the deal even more, Krispy Kreme Rewards members will receive the extra perk of a FREE doughnut with their coffee on that day!

“Our coffee is going doughnuts, and our doughnuts are going coffee! It is a delicious, innovative approach to our iconic products,” said Alison Holder, Vice President of U.S. Marketing for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Because this is such a unique taste experience, and one we think coffee fans especially are going to love, we’re offering the Coffee Glazed Doughnut all week long in celebration of National Coffee Day and introducing the Original Glazed Coffee as a permanent menu item.”
