Earlier this week, we brought you the first look at Ryan Reynolds in the Deadpool costume on the set of Deadpool 3, which is currently in production ahead of its May 2024 release.

Now, just a few days later, while photos of Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine have yet to hit the internet, rumors suggest that when they do, he’ll be wearing the character’s iconic yellow-and-blue costume that we never got to see him wear during his previous 17-year-long stint as Wolverine.

Deadpool 3 is being directed by the prolific Shawn Levy, who has experience working with both Jackman and Reynolds, having directed the former in 2011’s Real Steel and the latter in Free Guy and The Adam Project, both of which were released in recent years.

The film is slated to be R-rated, which will be the first time since Marvel Studios released Iron Man in 2008 that an MCU film is getting that rating.

In addition to the starring bromantic duo of Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Jackman’s Logan, Deadpool 3 is also set to star Emmy winner Matthew Macfayden, fresh off of playing Tom Wambsgans on Succession and The Crown star Emma Corrin, who is reportedly playing the film’s main villain.

Additional cast members include Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic, and Rob Delaney.

Currently dated to hit theaters on May 3, 2024, Deadpool 3 is set to be a part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will also consist of upcoming films such as The Marvels (the final MCU film of 2023, hitting theaters in November), Captain America: Brave New World (which is also currently in production), Thunderbolts, and Blade.

Phase 5 will also see a handful of Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, such as Echo, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, and season two of Loki and What If..?, and, hit Disney+ in the coming months and years.
