After weeks of speculation, a new photo from the set of Deadpool 3 has confirmed that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be wearing the classic yellow-and-blue costume for the first time in his cinematic career.

Check out the photo, which is the first official image from the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, below.

Deadpool 3 will mark Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine in 2017’s Academy Award-nominated Logan, which was meant to serve as a farewell to the character that Jackman played for a record-setting 17 years (at the time).

Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, Deadpool 3 is also set to star Emmy winner Matthew Macfayden (Tom Wambsgans on Succession) and The Crown star Emma Corrin, who is reportedly playing the main villain.

Further cast members include Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic, and Rob Delaney.

Directed by Night at the Museum and Stranger Things filmmaker Shawn Levy, who also helmed Reynolds in recent films such as Free Guy and The Adamn Project, Deadpool 3 — which began production earlier this summer — is currently scheduled to hit movie theaters in the United States on Friday, May 6.

Deadpool 3 will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5, which officially began earlier this year with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania back in February. Additional Phase 5 films include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The MarvelsCaptain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolts.

Furthermore, Phase 5 will include the release of various TV series on Disney+ such as Phase 5 will also see a handful of Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, such as Echo, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, and season two of both Loki and What If…?

The film, which will be the first in the trilogy since Disney acquired the rights to 20th Century Fox, will be the first R-rated movie in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began back in 2008 with the release of Iron Man.
