A woman's husband was humbled after he tried out her Pilates class.
Pilates has become an exceptionally popular form of exercise. But nobody said it was easy.
We’ve seen the girlfriends of football players and NFL players humbling their partners with Pilates, and now, it’s firefighter Ked’s turn.
The video, which has 10.2 million views, begins with the husband and wife outside a Solidcore venue. On-screen text reads: “My firefighter husband laughed at pilates… until class started.”
“How are you feeling before Pilates, babe?” Sabrina asks.
Ked responds by saying that he’s feeling good and is gonna “light it up.”
“You gonna light it up?” she asks innocently. “All right.”
The husband then confidently says that they “aren’t ready” for him and that he’s going to “teach them something.”
Upon his wife’s request, he then flexes his muscles.
Sabrina then says, “Let’s get it,” as the couple enter Solidcore.
The next shot shows Ked outside the venue looking visibly exhausted, with water dripping off him.
“How you feel, boo?” Sabrina asks.
“Don’t bring me back in here,” Ked responds.
There appears to be a drop falling from his cheek, but it is unclear whether this is from the water bottle or tears.
“You crying?” she asks.
“I ain’t crying,” he responds.
Sabrina then queries: “What’s wrong?”
“I ain’t coming back,” he said. “I ain’t crying though, just hungry.”
His calf is visibly shaking, and with a defeated look, he is leaning on the car.
The next shot shows them getting food as Ked says grace.
“Lord, we thank you for this food. We receive it and heal us from Pilates, we pray, amen,” he said.
BroBible reached out to the couple via TikTok direct message.
Viewers Found His Experience Hilarious
Commenters were amused by the clip.
“Do these men forget that Pilates was invented by a man for injured WWI soldiers to regain strength?” one asks. “Pilates is not easy.”
“My wife keeps trying to get me to go with her,” a second added. “Kinda feel like she’s trying to get that life insurance after seeing this.”
While a third said, “I used to go to burn boot camp and my husband called it my ‘girly gym’, I brought him for bring a friend day and he threw up.”
And a fourth noted, “Being a woman is an endurance sport. Be careful signing up for women’s fitness cause we ain’t built the same.”
Why Is Pilates So Hard?
Pilates is an exercise that focuses on strengthening your core. While it is usually considered to be low impact, it’s known to cause a burning sensation some find painful.
Holly Grant, founder of Pilates PT, told Stylist that this sensation “is actually a build-up of lactic acid in the muscles being used (which is a positive effect) and exercises that promote endurance, such as the 100s, will often create this feeling due to the repetitive nature of the exercise.”
Paola Langella, a Pilates instructor and founder of Shapes Studio, also told the outlet that while this sensation might not go away, we should grit our teeth and deal with it.
“I always say to my clients, ‘If it’s easy, it’s not Pilates,’ she said. “In Pilates, you’ll always feel ‘the pain’, but there’s a chance that you might not experience sore muscles the day after. The goal should be to leave the class feeling balanced, restored and feeling lighter.”
