The Utterly Insane Final Trailer For ‘Joker’ Is HERE!

With just over a month to go until the film’s release, Warner Bros. has released the second and likely final trailer for the upcoming film Joker.

While Joker is set to be released in cinemas across the United States on Friday, October 4, it will actually make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, September 9, meaning we’re just about a week away until the first reviews start to hit the internet.

To the relief of fans, Joker was given an R-rating by the Motion Picture Association of America, hopefully meaning that Joker will be unlike any other comic book movie we’ve seen before. And if this latest trailer is any indication, Warner Bros. is going to have a serious critical darling and financial hit on their hands.

Joker, which director Todd Phillips says doesn’t “follow anything from the comic books”, is shaping up to be a character study of how someone like Joker can even come to exist in the first place.

Warner Bros. has certainly put in the leg work to build up anticipation from the film, as the release date of the trailer was announced through a series of quick yet intricate Instagram clips:

Phoenix certainly has a lot to live up to as the Clown Prince of Crime, as Heath Ledger’s performance as Joker in The Dark Knight was recently voted by Rotten Tomatoes as the most iconic movie moment of the last 20 years.

In addition to Phoenix as failed comedian Arthur Fleck in the 1981 Gotham City, Joker also stars Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, and Frances Conroy.

‘Joker’ will be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, October 4.
