‘Crawling Around On The Ground’: Man Wins Big In Las Vegas Casino. Then He Loses One Of His $500 Chips

A man wins big at a Las Vegas casino and pockets two $500 chips before heading to a blackjack table. Then he realizes one of the chips fell out of his pocket. He praises security for helping him get it back.

In a video with over 27,000 views, TikToker Sounds Like Fun (@soundslikefun) says he played roulette at Resorts World in Las Vegas. He can’t believe he won $1,000 and decides to meet up with his friends at the blackjack table.

How Did He Lose A $500 Chip?

“I pull one of the $500 chips out and get change for it, play blackjack for about a half hour,” he says. “I reach in my pocket, and $500 chip number two is nowhere to be found.”

He starts “crawling around on the ground” but can’t find it. So, he approaches a member of the security team to see if they can help him. They pull the camera footage and confirm that he had both chips.

However, when he pulled his phone from his pocket during the night, the chip flew out onto the ground. The camera shows a woman picking up the chip.

“All right, so I guess it’s finders keepers, right?” he says. “Apparently not.”

He says the security team explained that if the woman cashed the chip and left, there was nothing they could do. However, they could get the chip back if she was still in the casino.

Luckily, she didn’t leave, and the security team got the TikToker’s chip back.

“I was told she was not a Good Samaritan and offered it up willingly,” he shares at the end of the clip. “But I got my $500 back.”

Will Casino Security Help You Get Your Chip Back?

On the r/gambling subreddit, others warn casino-goers not to pick up seemingly lost chips. One poster says they received a call from the local police after cashing in a $100 chip he found on the ground.

“The person who lost the $100 reported the situation to security, and through the eye in the sky, they tracked it to me picking it up and cashing it. The officer informs me I should come in as soon as I can so ‘they can get their money back,'” they write. The poster says the casino banned them for six months.

Other commenters on the thread agree, sharing their experiences.

“Yeah, never pick up money in the casino. Me and a friend were in Vegas like 10 years ago, I remember he found 10$ on the ground and a casino worker who seen it acted like he robbed the entire place, demanded he hand it over,” one says.

Another writes, “I know someone who found a $400 ticket in the casino. They cashed it and the person who lost it involved security. The found out he found it and had to pay it back and lost all their status back down to silver.”

“My mate walked away from a machine and left over a $1000 in a ticket sitting there and someone took it,” a third adds. “Casino found it by the next morning and the person got arrested and charged for stealing something they very well knew was not [theirs].”

Viewers React To The Lost Chip

In the comments, some viewers suggest that the woman likely couldn’t cash the chip due to the amount.

“For really big chips, they won’t let you cash it out without knowing where you got it,” one explains. “For example, if you find a $5k chip, you won’t be able to cash it out. If you win it at whatever game, they have a record of you winning it and coloring up to that $5k chip before leaving.”

Another says that Resorts World security may be uniquely helpful compared to other casinos. They write, “Resort world security is crazy good. We lost wallet there and they located it amazingly fast. Not surprised to hear you got it back at Resort World.”

Some say that Las Vegas casinos are particularly strict about stolen property.

“Yeah Vegas don’t play about stuff like that! I live here and we hear stories like that all the time,” a viewer suggests.

“Not finders keepers in Vegas,” a second remarks.
