Macauley Culkin was just 10-years-old when he became a household name following his starring role in the Christmas comedy film Home Alone.

It was actually the fifth film Culkin had appeared in – Rocket Gibraltar, See You in the Morning, Uncle Buck, and Jacob’s Ladder being the previous movies in which he had appeared.

Now, 34 years and only 14 films later, Macauley Culkin was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It presented to him by Catherine O’Hara, the woman who played his mom in Home Alone, who like many fans, can’t believe it has really been that long.

“He’s 43. That’s older than I was when I played his mother!” O’Hara told People. “I think I was 32.”

“He’s got a lovely wife to be (actress Brenda Song), and two beautiful kids. And he just seems really happy, and I’m very happy for him.”

That wasn’t always the case, according to Macauley Culkin’s 41-year-old brother Kieran.

“What happened to him as a little kid was very unpleasant,” Kieran Culkin recently told Rolling Stone.

The Messsenger reports that Kieran also told Rolling Stone, “He was like, “Oh, I f—– my life. This is never what I wanted. I wanted to be an actor and do interesting work, and now I’m f—— famous.

“It took him a while. He’s good with it now, but that took him a good ten years of having a real issue with it before he found comfort in his skin. It’s hard to reconcile anything when you’re nine years old, let alone this kind of attention and fame.”

As Catherine O’Hara put it while speaking at Macauley Culkin’s Walk of Fame ceremony, he is finally getting his due.

“You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she said. “And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you.”
