Macaulay Culkin has reportedly met with Disney about a new 'Home Alone' movie
While Kieran Culkin may be the brother with the Academy Award, Disney is reportedly courting his older brother, Macaulay Culkin, to reboot the Home Alone franchise. Reports indicate the studio met with the former Home Alone star about reviving the series.
According to The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Disney has met with Macaulay Culkin about a new Home Alone film and is “extremely eager” to make a deal.

Culkin has detailed his idea for a Home Alone sequel in the past, which would see Kevin McCallister — now a distracted single dad — get locked out of his family home by his own estranged son, who then proceeds to set traps for him.
“I kind of had this idea. I’m either a widower or a divorcee. I’m raising a kid and all that stuff,” Culkin explained last year during his A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin tour.
“I’m working really hard, and I’m not really paying enough attention, and the kid is kind of getting miffed at me, and then I get locked out. [Kevin’s son] won’t let me in… and he’s the one setting traps for me. The house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship. [Kevin has to] get back into [his] son’s heart.
Beloni says that he’s spoken with people who have heard the pitch and they describe it as being a “really good idea.”
Culkin has been taking on more acting work in recent years, as he voiced a character in Zootopia 2 and appeared in TV series such as American Horror Story, The Righteous Gemstones, Running Point (alongside his wife Brenda Song, who stars in the series), and Fallout.
Home Alone, released in 1990, became one of the most iconic films of the decade and an instant holiday season classic. Culkin also starred in its sequel, 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
