Mark Zuckerberg And His Bros Built An Awesome Catapult And Filmed It Firing In Slow-Motion

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg appears to have been taken Langston Hughes’ quote “life is for the living” to heart in recent months as Zuck continues to live his best life every day.

Case in point, Mark Zuckerberg and what appears to be some good bros of his set up a catapult competition on what appears to be open land in Hawaii. More specifically, they appear to be building trebuchets to launch stones like armies of the Middle Ages did to take down castle walls.

The billionaire Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO can be seen to the right of the trebuchet in a blue t-shirt with a matching red hat. I’m no expert in catapults but I am willing to place a wager that their catapult was better than the one behind them. Furthermore, Mark Zuckerberg cooked up his own original ‘do-do-do-do’ soundtrack for this Instagram Reels.

It’s also worth mentioning that MZ appears to be healing quickly from his ACL surgery. The soft brace he has on his knee is a great sign that he’s back on track to a competitive MMA fight some time this year.

This brings me back to my college days when we found an isolate campground that had a ‘look the other way’ policy when it came to big fires. There was probably a 2-month period of Junior year when my friend circle engaged in an all out battle to create the largest explosion (within reason) around a campfire.

We thought we were making headway thanks to knowledge gleaned from Chemistry classes. But then we ran into this redneck at the hardware store who observed what we were buying and hit us with ‘boys, follow me to this aisle over here.’

After that night, we decided we needed to scale back the recreational bonfires because my dude gave us knowledge we simply did not have the safety precautions in place to contain. Never doubt the ingenuity of a Florida redneck when it comes to building a bonfire in a hurry.

Side note: this is the most-watched trebuchet video on YouTube. Mark Zuckerberg’s catapult is of a different design but man, this video is glorious:

We as a society need to get back to a place where we’re hurling stuff through the air more often. Not just pumpkins in Punkin Chunkin competitions in October. We need to be launching catapults year-round. Perhaps Mark Zuckerberg would be interested in launching a Catapult League to boost STEM interest, like Battlebots but for catapults.
