While we might never get to see Jax Teller ever again (unless Kurt Sutter makes his prequel story of John Teller), we are lucky enough to get a new Sons of Anarchy spinoff in Mayans M.C. Jax likely won’t be in the upcoming TV show because driving straight into a tractor trailer usually puts a kibosh on that whole living thing. But we get a Jax Teller-like character with Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes AKA “The Prospect.”

Reyes is played by JD Pardo, who much like Jax is another young man who is compelled into joining a motorcycle gang. based on the trailer, Reyes is fresh out of prison and must decide if he wants to get back into the criminal lifestyle or fly straight into a new non-drug-running lifestyle with his girlfriend. But once you’re in the M.C. you can never leave the M.C.

Ezekiel’s father is Felipe Reyes, a once strong Mexican patriarch hoping his son will achieve the American dream and is played by Edward James Olmos. The motorcycle gang TV show also stars Emilio Rivera, who is one of the few actors from Sons of Anarchy to make it to Mayans. Alvarez plays Emilio Rivera, head of the Mayans Oakland charter in SOA. The upcoming FX series also stars Clayton Cardenas, Sarah Bolger, Michael Irby, Carla Baratta, Antonio Jaramillo, Raoul Max Trujillo, Richard Cabral, and Danny Pino.

The biker series is set in Santo Padre, a town on the border of California and Mexico where there is plenty of drug and cartel action. The first official trailer lasts two minutes and debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 on Thursday. You can watch the first teaser trailer for Mayans M.C. HERE. Mayans M.C. thunders into your life on September 4 on FX.
