One former bartender shared an unsettling experience he had with a customer. But what happened next was even worse.

Difficult customers are part of the territory as a bartender. But this former Mississippi bartender didn’t realize just how unsavory one especially unpleasant customer was.

Poor bar top etiquette and overstaying your welcome are two reasons bartenders can lose patience with you. But in the case of TikToker @ducklover1600, it was purely the customer’s aggression.

He tells the story in a video that garnered 171,600 views. On-screen text read, “You never know who you are dealing with.”

“I was a bartender for three years, and I learned a valuable lesson there, which is, be careful who you pick fights with, ’cause you never really know who you’re dealing with,” the TikToker begins.

He then goes on to talk about a man who used to come in with a yellow lab that wore a Patriots vest. He notes how he came for drinks and could get a little “rowdy” but didn’t act particularly abnormal.

One day, the man was talking to this girl the bartender knew. He was 40, while the girl was college age, the TikToker continues. She asked the bartender if the man was “safe to talk to.”

In response, he says that he had seen the customer be a little “weird” and personally didn’t trust him but emphasized, “It’s your own discretion, dude.”

He says the woman didn’t want to talk to him anymore following this.

The Bone-Chilling Discovery

In response to this happening, the man came up to the bartender and got aggressive, per the TikToker. In retaliation, the bartender says he “stepped up in his face” and said he will do what he wants.

“And being a bartender is cool because it’s one of the few jobs where you can be rude to your customers, and I sort of played into it,” he notes. The TikToker admits he was “taunting” the man. In the end, he says people had to “drag” the man out.

But the most chilling part is what happened next. Three days later, the TikToker claims that news broke that he “shot up his entire neighborhood,” killing three people and also his dog.

“If he had a gun in his hand, he would have shot me in the face. I’m 100% confident,” he concludes. “So I haven’t really got into many public confrontations since then.”

It’s Not Uncommon

Commenters shared similarly sinister stories.

“I worked at a restaurant years ago, our dishwasher ended up on the first 48, he was a serial killer,” one shared.

“A guy asked another bartender at my job if he could stand on the bar and she said no and we were talking about how weird he was and the next week he shot three people ordering ice cream from an ice cream truck,” another said.

Meanwhile, a third added, “You NEVER know. I was a bartender for over a decade. The last place I worked, I got a new regular. Older guy probably around 70. He was quiet, polite, even sweet…but he always gave me the creeps a little. He ended up telling me on day that he’d just ‘showed up’ because he spent the last 30 years in prison for 1st degree murder.”

And a fourth wrote, “I worked in ER and once a patient was tweaking and told me he was a serial killer and I was next. He looked like Henry Rollins.”

Is This True?

Based on the TikToker’s location and the facts of the case, it is possible the case he is referring to is that Armando Navarro case. In February 2025, Navarro was charged with three counts of murder and animal cruelty, among other things. However, it should be noted that he didn’t, according to KCTV5, shoot up his entire neighborhood or kill his dog.

It should also be noted that BroBible was unable to independently verify this connection.
