Because mustard ice cream wasn’t gross enough (though one of our writers said it actually wasn’t bad), Oscar Mayer is countering French’s oddball ice cream with a nasty-sounding concoction of their own: a hot dog ice cream sandwich.
No, I am not kidding. This is really happening, and it’s being released this week.

It will be made up of candied hot dog bits, hot dog sweet cream, spicy dijon gelato, and a cookie bun specially created by Brooklyn-based bakery One Girl Cookies.

The “Ice Dog” sandwich is a collaboration between Oscar Mayer and New York City-based Il Laboratorio Del Gelato.
Oscar Mayer is even turning their iconic Wienermobile into a ice cream truck for the occassion and will have it bumping around Bryant Park in NYC at lunchtime giving away their hot dog flavored ice cream sandwiches for free on August 14th.
