  • Telling a brief anecdote about yourself is a long-runing tradition on Wheel of Fortune.
  • During his decades as host, Pat Sajak has likely heard thousands of these brief stories.
  • Despite this, contestant Scott Ingwersen recently told the “most pointless” one that Sajak has ever heard.

Longtime Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak absolutely roasted a recent contestant for telling the “most pointless” story that the 75-year-old has ever heard during his 40-plus years as host.

The moment — which saw Sajak sarcastically congratulate contestant Scott Ingwersen for his “pointless” anecdote — occurred during the Wednesday, March 10 episode of the historic ABC game show.

“It’s important to know that when I was 12 years old, I was riding a 10-speed bike with flip-flops, and I fell and completely cut off the top of my toe,” Ingwersen explained to Sajak and the audience.

“The next car that came by were two paramedics that were on their way to their job, and they said, ‘It’s just a laceration.’ But I didn’t know what that was, so it freaked me out even more. And my toe is reattached, and I just want to say thank you to them 30 years later.”

Sajak, clearly thirsting for violence, responded as brutally as possible, telling Ingwersen that he’s now the teller of Wheel of Fortune’s “most pointless” anecdote, which is *really* saying something when you consider all of the snoozefest stories he’s listened to throughout the decades.

“That may have been the most pointless story ever told. And you told it, Scott. Congratulations to you,” Sajak said.

Credit to Sajak, who recently made headlines for sticking up for some Wheel of Fortune contestants, for going full Billy Madison:

Wheel of Fortune first debuted in 1975. Six years later, in 1981, Sajak took over as host and as remained in the role ever since.
