Company Behind Peeps Halts Production Because Of Covid-19 And Now 2020 Has Gone Too Far!

Marshmallow Peeps Production Hits High Gear Before Easter

In case you missed it, Halloween candy hit store shelves early this year even though Halloween might be canceled in most states.

One beloved candy that absolutely won’t be in stores this Halloween are marshmallow Peeps.

The candy is going on hiatus until Easter because of Covid-19 concerns.

According to PennLive.com, Just Born Quality Confections won’t be producing the popular marshmallow sweets for any of the upcoming holidays. The Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based company will instead focus on its biggest holiday in 2021.

“This situation resulted in us having to make the difficult decision to forego production of our seasonal candies for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day in order to focus on meeting the expected overwhelming demand for Peeps for next Easter season, as well as our everyday candies,” the company said.

Peeps easily make my top 5 seasonal candy list along with Cadbury Eggs and candy corn. I’ll toss a package into the freezer, wait until each chick is cold and hard, and finish the entire package in under ten seconds.

But while my love for Peeps is enormous, I don’t love the candy enough to set the world record for Peep eating or put the damn things on pizza. I’m not that much of a savage.
