Numerous attendees at Coachella claim they have fallen ill after eating a slice of pizza from a certain vendor. Making matters even worse, the Coachella attendees say they paid $25 for just a single slice.
“I’m here to post a Coachella service,” one person warned on X. “Since I watch Coachella TikTok’s [sic] on the reg, I’m here to tell y’all don’t eat at Spicy Pie because everyone’s been getting sick from the pizza.”
Numerous TikTok videos with the hashtags pukechella and #sickchella have been making the rounds, complaining about the pizza.
“I felt so queasy afterward,” TikToker @emily.lorem explained. “I had to go to the port-a-potty. So that’s how you know it’s really, really bad.”
“I woke up to find my stomach burning,” TikToker sb.vivian claimed, adding that she “ran to the bathroom and was there for like an hour. I think I might have gotten food poisoning.”
Another TikToker shared a video of their visit to one of the on-site medical tents. They said they suspected the pizza was to blame and planned to report it to the Coachella staff.
In Spicy Pie’s defense, according to the New York Post, “As of April 13, there have been no confirmed reports from Coachella organizers about a foodborne illness outbreak related to any specific vendor.”
What is less defensible are the prices for food and drinks at Coachella this year
“$41 for pizza and Coke?! These viral Coachella food prices are actually so unhinged,” read a headline on an article published by The Tab.
The article cites numerous TikTokers complaining about the food prices. One person said they paid $23 for noodles and $28 for carne asada fries.
Among the other pricey food items are poke bowls, like spicy tuna and yuzu salmon, which cost $23. A chicken sandwich with fries costs $30. Tenders and fries are $26, while just an order of fries is $12.
House noodles are $18, chili garlic noodles are $18, and spicy wontons are $14. Someone else said they paid $50 for three coffees. Then there was the price of two slices of pizza and a can of Coke: $41.
