Weak Dude Learns How To Rip A Phonebook In Half With Ease And You Can Too

Ripping a phonebook in half has to be one of the most gratifying experiences ever, especially for a person who has gone through their entire life thinking they were too small/weak to ever rip a phonebook in half.

If you’re not already familiar with the ’52 Skillz’ YouTube channel it’s a project where one guy sets out to learn 52 new skills each year. One per week. In his latest attempt to learn a new skill he’s synced up with Tony Reid at Mind over Metal to learn how to rip a phonebook in half. This man, like most (average) men, does not have the bulky build that you’d expect would be required in order to rip a phonebook in half but apparently, it’s 60-70% about technique, at least according to this video:

I’ve set out to complete a Rubik’s Cube in 2018 without looking up any tips/tricks as my New Year’s Resolution, but part of me wants to buy a stack of phone books and rip them in half now. Now that we’ve all learned the technique, I kind of think we owe it to ourselves to rip at least one phonebook in half, right?

If your day is winding down and you are looking for some instructional and weird videos to kill some time I highly suggest these two below. One will teach you how to roll a coin across your knuckles and the other is a clip on how to pick locks. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been fascinated with the picking of locks and lock picking sets like this one.
