Kentucky Man Orders Buffalo Wings, Fries, And A Yuengling. Then The Waitress Tells Him Something Unexpected An Hour Later: ‘I Want You To See The Pain In My Eyes’

There are few pleasures in life quite like craving one specific order from a specific restaurant, finally getting it, and realizing it’s exactly what you wanted.

For one Kentucky diner, however, that dream was crushed by a forgetful server. TikToker Andrew Fuson (@vicesandvalor) shared his disappointment in a recent video that got over 35,100 views.

How Did The Server Mess Up His Order?

Fuson says he went to a restaurant after work, without disclosing which one. “Walk in the door,” he says. “I’ve been thinking about these wings all week.”

Without even reading a menu, he says he ordered buffalo wings, French fries, and a Yuengling beer. “I watch her write it down,” he recalls.

Fuson starts waiting excitedly, noting that the place was fairly busy, but “nothing crazy.” He recounts waiting patiently for an hour, sipping on his beer.

Then the server asked him, “Do you want another beer?”

He responded, “Sure.”

Then the server turns back around, asking him, “Did you order food?”

“Yeah… yeah,” he responded, immediately realizing she didn’t ring in his order. “I ordered some wings.”

“She’s like, ‘I totally forgot to put that in,’” he recalls. “’That never happens to me. I’m really sorry.’”

Fuson informed the server that he was running out of time and had to leave soon. Then she offered him something unusual, reportedly asking, “Do you want to speak to my manager?”

“She asked me if I wanted to speak to her manager,” Fuson says. “It’s like some weird reverse Karen situation.”

He denied her offer, finding it pointless.

“What I wanna do, I wanna sit here. I wanna look at you. I wanna complain to you. That’s it,” he says. “I wanna tell you about how I’ve had deep, vivid fantasies about these wings all week. And you’ve ruined that part of my life, and I’ll never get it back.”

Although disappointed, Fuson says he only told her he was sad, and “cried a little bit.”

“I didn’t tip her, and I still feel guilty about it,” Fuson says. “So if you’re watching this, you stupid…”

Viewers Find One Part Of His Story Particularly Unbelievable

“Doesn’t add up 1 beer 1 hour, who does that?” one user wondered.

“If you would have drank your beer at a normal pace, she would have asked you if you needed a refill at the 15-20 minute mark,” another wrote. “And you could have asked about your wings AND had another beer.”

“She shouda comped your beer,” suggested a third.

Fuson responded to that last comment, writing, “That’s what I’d have done but I don’t like to be rough on people in the service industry.”

Server Mistakes Aren’t Uncommon

The restaurant industry is a fast-paced, stressful environment where mistakes are unavoidable.

While servers often get blamed for all kinds of errors they’re not responsible for, not ringing in an order is directly their responsibility. Other servers have previously shared online how mortifying a mistake this can feel like.

However, regardless of the situation, there are very few instances when leaving zero tip is justified. According to etiquette experts, even for a subpar experience, a 10 percent tip is expected, with the standard being 20 to 25 percent. Since Fuson didn’t receive his meal, however, a $1 tip per drink would’ve been appropriate.
