The other day our very own Eric Ital was lucky enough to run into Ryan Reynolds as he was at the premiere of Netflix’s new Michael Bay flick 6 Underground and asked the star who Deadpool would drunk text if he crushed a bottle of Aviation Gin and what he’d say? (Hint: his answer involved Wolverine, natch.)

Someone else that also asked Ryan Reynolds a very good question over the weekend was Elizabeth Taylor (I think) of Variety when she brought up Martin Scorcese and his recent whining about people watching The Irishman on their phones.

Reynolds opinion on that was, “You should be able to watch whatever the f**k you want to watch on whatever f**king device you want to watch it on. I don’t know. I would say that’s just the way things are.”

Michael Bay, the director of 6 Underground, also offered his opinion.

“I don’t want my movies to be watched on a phone either. But movies aren’t that bad on these new TVs that have HDR, high dynamic range,” said Bay. “Listen most of the Academy votes on TVs, okay. We all love movies. I’m a big cinema guy. But, the great thing about Netflix is it’s a new voice out here and it’s a strong voice. And they do interesting content. So, that’s why I appreciate it.”

That would be Marvel superheroes: 2, Scorcese: 0.

Earlier in the week, while he was in Seoul, Korea to promote his new Netflix film, Reynolds made a specific point to apologize to The Spice Girls for denigrating them in a gag that appears in 6 Underground.

“That song was not – I specifically asked for something else,” said Reynolds. “Something else like an old 98 Degrees song or something like that, that I would rip out and pull it. The fact that Michael ‘effing’ Bay put in Spice Girls, which by the way, where I’m from in my house that’s a religion, man. Like I don’t even… When my wife finds out that I rip out a radio because the Spice Girls is playing – I’m a dead man. They’re amazing – the Spice Girls.

“Yeah, so I told him ‘put a different song in there – do not use that one’ and which is, in his brain he hears, ‘Ooh! Put this song in here!’ So, there’s no fighting that one I am still bummed about that one. I love the Spice Girls.”

This now marks the second time Reynolds has apologized to a member of the Beckham family for mocking them in a movie, having previously done so with David Bekcham and Deadpool 2. Perhaps Ryan can mock Brooklyn Beckham in his next film.
