It’s been a very eventful couple of years for Shakira, the singer who’s been attacked by wild boars and surrounded by rumors concerning her love life in the wake of her split from Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué. Now, it appears she’s fired yet another shot his way as she continues to escalate her ongoing war with her husband.
Shakira and Piqué first became an item in 2011 and had two children together before things fell apart in 2022 after he allegedly cheated on the Colombian icon.
Since then, the story has taken a number of twists and turns; a psychic claims Shakira paid her to put a curse on the Spanish soccer team ahead of the World Cup, and the singer supposedly placed a mannequin of a witch on a balcony to torment her former partner’s mother.
While no one is entirely sure how Shakira discovered Piqué’s alleged infidelity, a few theories have been floated. One involves a jar of strawberry jam the singer assumed had been consumed by another woman because she was the only person in her household who ate it, while a slightly more plausible explanation suggests it was brought to her attention by a nanny who tipped her off.
As a result, the internet is having an absolute field day with a cameo in the music video Shakira recently dropped to promote “El Jefe” (the track she recorded with Fuerza Regida), which features a shot of the nanny in question around the 2:40 mark.
The nanny in question is Lili Melgar, who Shakira explicitly mentions by name while saying, “This song is for you, they didn’t compensate you” when she appears in the music video.

According to The Independent, it’s believed Piqué abruptly fired Melgar while operating under the assumption she was the person who told Shakira about his supposed misdeeds, so I can’t help but respect the pettiness on display here.
