Well, it’s official. 55-year-old Kathy Jacobs has made it to the final six in Sports Illustrated’s 2020 swimsuit model search.

Back in August of 2019, it was revealed that Jacobs, unlike 58-year-old mother of two Jodi Harrison-Bauer, had made it into the final 16 of the model search.

“I am doing this to be part of a change in the views on women over 50, not only by society, but by ourselves,” Jacobs said at the time. “It is a boomerang effect, and we as women over 50 need to stand together and realize how amazing, relevant, beautiful and sexy we all are. It’s time women of all ages unite and claim our power! Ageism impacts all of us, and women of all ages coming together and stopping it now helps prevent future generations from ever experiencing it!”

This week Jacobs found out she will be flying to some exotic location for a photoshoot that will appear in the 2020 issue as one of the six finalists.

Jacobs told People, “I’ve entered the SI Swimsuit Model Search and flown to Miami twice. The first time I didn’t make it past the first round. But I didn’t give up! I felt a burning desire to try again and to be part of a change in the way society views women over 50.”

Joining Jacobs in the final six are 27-year-old Tanaye White, 20-year-old Jamea Lynee, 22-year-old Clarissa Bowers, 25-year-old Christie Valdiserri, and 24-year-old Brielle Anyea.

Sadly, 43-year-old Katina Taylor, a former Dolphins reporter for WFOR-CBS4 in Miami – and ex-wife of Dolphins great Jason Taylor – who also made it to the final 16 did not move on as we had hoped.

Maybe next year.
