Despite being the face of the streaming revolution for a decade now, Netflix is still finding ways to reinvent the medium, as their new South Korean hit Squid Game is on pace to become their biggest series ever.
“Squid Game will definitely be our biggest non-English language show in the world, for sure,” Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said last week. “There’s a very good chance it’s going to be our biggest show ever.”
It should come as no surprise, then, that the studio is already looking into a second season of massive series, which has only been streaming for about two weeks (at the time of this writing).”
Will there be a Squid Game season two?
While nothing is official yet, Netflix is reportedly already trying to “figure out the right structure” for a potential second season of the massive South Korean series Squid Game:
“Nothing firm has been decided about a second season of Squid Game, but Netflix’s global TV head Bela Bajaria sounds upbeat about the prospect and suggests that it would depend on [creator Hwang Dong-hyuk’s] schedule and his desires for how to proceed. ‘He has a film and other things he’s working on,’ she says, noting the creator likes to collaborate with ‘other writers’ who might come onboard for a new chapter. ‘We’re trying to figure out the right structure for him.’” [via Vulture]
