The First Photos From The New ‘Super Nintendo World’ Are Predictably Awesome

Please don’t tell my girlfriend this, but low-key one of the main reasons I’m most looking forward to having kids is so I have a legitimate excuse to visit theme parks like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Avengers Campus and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the latest addition to Univeral Studios Hollywood, ‘Super Nintendo World’.

Ahead of its official opening on February 17, 2023, Super Nintendo World has released some new photos of the theme park, giving Nintendo fans an idea of what they can expect when visiting.

Here’s a further description of the park from Universal Studios themselves:

Super Nintendo World takes you into the world of Super Mario Battle Team Bowser on the groundbreaking Mario Kart ride. Play interactive games throughout the land and track your score with a Power-Up Band. Dine at Toadstool Cafe, meet Mario and friends, and purchase exclusive merch at the 1-UP Factory store. As mentioned above, Super Nintendo World will open its doors at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Next year will certainly be an exciting time for Nintendo fans as The Super Mario Bros. Movie — which famously (infamously?) stars Chris Pratt as the titular plumber — is set to hit theaters on April 7.

In addition to Pratt as Mario, The Super Mario Bros. Movie stars Charlie Day as Luigi, stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.

Given that they haven’t been teased in any of the trailers or posters or casting announcements, it’s also almost a guarantee that Wario and/or Waluigi appear in some sort of post-credit scene. That’s just my guess, though, so no promises.
