U2 recently extended the first-ever residency at The ‘Sphere’ in Las Vegas through the first weekend in March. From there, Phish will play a four-night run at the end of April.

It is entirely unclear as to who or what might takeover as the next residents on a more full-time basis. There are a lot of rumors surrounding the next performer(s) to play the world’s most viral venue!

Lady Gaga is on the list. Harry Styles seems to be picking up steam. There is chatter about Bon Jovi.

One new band also recently threw its hat into the ring! The Killers are down.

Formed in Las Vegas in 2001, the multi-platinum rock band would love an opportunity to play in their hometown at the Sphere. Their lead singer, Brandon Flowers, was stoked on the idea when asked about their interest during a recent interview with The Guardian.

You can take the boys out of Vegas, but it will always be a part of us. When we were kids, it was a small town. For a while, it was the fastest-growing city in America.

I was lucky enough to see U2 at the Sphere. Absolutely we would be open to doing something like that.

It would be a big undertaking, but it would be a blast!

While 20,000 people belting every word to ‘Mr. Brightside’ inside of the 366-foot tall and 516-foot wide auditorium would be epic, it is unclear as to whether MSG Entertainment and James Dolan have any interest in making it happen. They have showed active interest in Styles.

As of right now, it is one-sided for the Killers.

To see a Las Vegas-based band takeover the coolest and newest venue in their home city would be pretty cool to see. However, it seems like there are bigger targets on the board at this time.

The Killers will have to get in line!

With a capacity of 18,000, the Sphere auditorium stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. All of the images are displayed in 18K on the world’s largest LED screen. A whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers make up the audio system.

An announcement on the next residency should come in the new year!
