Snakes are supposed to have two eyes, just like everything on the planet that has eyeballs. Eyes are best used in pairs because they give us depth perception.

Having three eyes is unnatural. It’s a sign that something went really wrong somewhere along the line of development. Or it’s a potential sign that a demon sent from Hell has made its way up to earth’s surface sent from that Dark Prince himself. And what better place to ascend from the depths of Hell than Australia, right?

Given how many deadly creatures there are living in Australia I don’t think anyone would be shocked to learn that the gateways to hell are on that island. I’m not saying I have proof of this but the writing is on the wall after this 3-eyed snake was found on the side of a road.

Newsweek reports:

X-rays revealed the juvenile snake, which measured about 15 inches, had an extra eye socket on its head. According to a post from the official Northern Territories Parks and Wildlife Facebook account, the snake’s third eye was functional.

Rangers said the snake, a carpet python, probably grew its extra eye as an embryo. It’s “extremely unlikely” to be the result of environmental factors, they wrote, as naturally-occurring malformations are quite common in reptiles.

A spokesperson from Parks and Wildlife later told Newsweek that the snake had struggled to eat properly and died. (via)

I don’t think I’m crazy here for saying that we should consider wiping out all snakes everywhere just to be safe. What if they’ve hatched some grand scheme to start growing three eyeballs to outwit the human race and eventually take over the planet?
