TMZ has never been known for their delicacy or tact. That haphazard editorial ethos was on full display on Monday morning when the tabloid spoiled the most dramatic plot point of Euphoria‘s series finale.
Despite the fact that the series finale of Euphoria — the eighth episode of its third season, titled “In God We Trust” — had only been available to stream for about 12 hours, TMZ posted a major spoiler in a headline without any warning.
TV fans rage at TMZ after the outlet posted a major spoiler for the Euphoria series finale just 12 hours after it aired
While TMZ has since deleted the tweet, the damage was already done for some, who vented their frustrations in the replies to the since-removed post.
“WTAF @TMZ spoiler alert on the Euphoria story. F—— damn it!!! 🤬
“JFC this is an abhorrent spoiler. X should demonetize this type of irresponsible bulls—.”
“WHAT THE F— where is the spoiler alert you a–holes!”
“Thanks for the spoiler you f—— gremlins!”
“Why the hell would you post a spoiler like that????”
Even people who haven’t watched Euphoria and don’t consider themselves fans on the show were angry with TMZ.
“Wow i dont even watch this show but this spoiler was triggering. POS TMZ.”
“There’s no way TMZ just put out the most INSANE spoiler for Euphoria!!! I haven’t (and don’t plan to) watched but holy f— that’s so f—– up!”
“If i watched this show i would’ve been beyond pissed off that this s— tmz account posted a spoiler like this🤦♂️”
“Why would you put the ending spoiler in the title? People just scrolling who haven’t watched it yet just got it spoiled. I don’t watch the show but even I know this is a completely stupid thing to do.”
“I am not even a fan and only watched 1 season, but you don’t post spoilers in the title!!!!”
“I don’t even watch this show and this annoys me.”
If you’re curious about what plot point TMZ spoiled, we will detail it below the spoiler warning. Do not scroll any further if you do not want to have one of Euphoria’s biggest storylines spoiled for you.

While Euphoria has featured an ensemble cast since premiering in 2019 — with Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow and the late Angus Cloud being among the show’s main player — Zendaya’s Rue was largely seen as the lead of the hit HBO series.
In a tweet posted around 9 a.m. EST, TMZ revealed that “Zendaya’s Rue Bennett Dies From Fentanyl Overdose In ‘Euphoria’ Season Finale.”

Euphoria premiered on HBO in June 2019 and ran for three seasons over seven years, becoming one of the most culturally significant and controversial series of its era. Created by Sam Levinson and loosely based on an Israeli series of the same name, the show starred Zendaya as Rue Bennett, a teenage recovering addict navigating trauma, addiction, and relationships in a Southern California suburb.
