Tom Cruise has become known for, among many other things, being borderline maniacal in his pursuit of creating as authentic of stunts as possible.

It’s why he wanted to do Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’s already iconic (despite the fact that it hasn’t even hit movie theaters yet) motorcycle stunt on day one of filming: because it would let the crew know, pending on how it turned out for Cruise, whether or not production could carry on. That, ladies and gentlemen is why there’s no one in the business quite like TC.

As it turns out, though, the 60-year-old Hollywood legend does draw the line somewhere when it comes to the legitimacy of his stunts, and apparently that line is kicking his female co-stars — namely Guardians of the Galaxy alum Pom Klementieff — in the stomach.

“I kept telling him to just kick me here,” Klementieff told Entertainment Weekly at the premiere of Dead Reckoning in Rome earlier this week.

“I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.’ He was like ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”

As for Klementieff’s mysterious new character in the beloved action franchise, the 37-year-old says that she brings something new to the Mission: Impossible roster.

“She’s very different style-wise from every other actress in the Mission: Impossible franchise,” Klementieff said. “She has a side that’s a bit more punk and she doesn’t really give a f—. So that was cool.”

In addition to Cruise and Klementieff, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One — which hits theaters in the United States on Friday, July 12 –stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Esai Morales, Rob Delaney, Henry Czerny, and Cary Elwes.

At this time, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two is currently scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2024.
