Given that he’s currently dating one of the most famous and successful women in the world, Travis Kelce’s decision-making is largely beyond reproach these days. Still, that doesn’t make the fact that he takes over three hours to pick out his gameday outfits any less absurd.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end reveals that he takes “at least” three hours each week picking out the outfit that he wears to the stadium and that can be seen by cameras when he arrives.

Before his cleats touch grass on a game day, before he even laces them up, Kelce said he takes at least three hours to pick out an outfit for walking into the locker room.

“I kind of just do it off of instinct,” said Kelce of how he actually picks out those clothes, during an interview on Monday. The “closet” in Kelce’s house is actually a converted bedroom. He speculated it holds upward of 300 sneakers alone. An avowed “impulse shopper,” Kelce said at nearly all idle moments—watching football on TV, eating dinner—he’s scrolling sites like Farfetch and Ssense for new gear. [via The Wall Street Journal]

Kelce is obviously vindicated in his decision to spend so much time caring about his looks as it helped land him a high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, in case you haven’t heard.

After being spotted with Swift in New York City over the weekend and with his brother Jason at the Phillies game on Tuesday night, Kelce likely finds himself back in Kansas City today as the Chiefs prepare for their Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

So far through six games this season — three of which he’s played in front of Swift — Kelce has 36 catches for 346 yards and three touchdowns.
