Because it’s virtually impossible for blockbuster movies to not include cameos and post-credit scenes, it should come as no surprise that the $300 million-costing Fast X has both of those things.

Another reminder, before we go any further, that this article will contain spoilers for Fast X, so if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want aspects of it ruined for you, now is the time to hit the eject button.

Still here? Okay, then it’s safe to say that Fast X features the return of two major players in the franchise: Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar and The Rock’s Luke Hobbs. Both of those returns are surprising for different reasons, as Gadot’s character apparently died in the sixth film, while The Rock has spent the last few years publicly beefing with Vin Diesel.

Nevertheless, the pair find themselves back in the Fast & Furious franchise and that’s led to movie fans cracking some jokes at their expense, particularly in the cold light of day that is their respective failings within the now-dead DCEUBlack Adam flopped and virtually killed the franchise while Wonder Woman 1984 is considered to be one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

The most obvious joke to make here is to reference that Thanos line from Avengers: Endgame, when he tells the trio of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor that they could not live with their failure and it led them back to him.

Speaking about the return of Gadot and The Rock, Diesel said he was “so excited” to have the pair “home.”

“I’m so excited to have them back home and even more excited to see fan reactions and to see how happy it makes people,” Diesel told Variety.

Given their cameo appearances in Fast X, it’s likely that The Rock and Gadot return for main roles in the upcoming sequel.

Fast X, which stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Momoa, Brie LarsonJohn Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Rita Moreno, and Ritchson, is currently playing in theaters across the United States.
