A couple in Las Vegas celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary by setting a new world record for the most casinos visited and gambled at in 24 hours. Their game of choice was slots because that enabled them to breeze through the quickest.

This was a proper full circle moment for the couple who spent their first wedding anniversary in Vegas. Now, 21 years later with an intact marriage that’s ‘old enough’ to gamble itself, the Mehaffey’s returned to the desert to set an incredible world record.

John and Kristina Mehaffey completed their new unofficial world record at the Circa Las Vegas on Thursday when they placed their 93rd casino bet in under 24 hours. The previous Guinness World Record for the ‘most casinos gambled at in 24 hours’ was set in 2017 when Kimo Ah Yun and Gary Meyer placed bets at 74 casinos in 24 hours.

The Mehaffey’s smashed the world record for most casinos gambled at in 24 hours

The Circa Las Vegas shared a video of the couple as the 24 hours time expired and their new unofficial world record became a reality:

The couple, who now lives in Las Vegas, spoke with KTNV prior to attempting their casino world record.

Kristina Mehaffey told the local news outlet “we went ‘well, we’ve gone to more than 74 casinos in Vegas, we can do this too.'” Thus sparking the impetus for their record-setting achievement.

In order to document their new casino world record attempt, they took a photo at every slot machine in every casino showing their betting slip with the date and time.

It remains to be seen if Guinness World Records will certify this but there’s no reason they shouldn’t and it should be just a matter of paperwork being filed and fees being paid in order to make this record official.
