On Tuesday, we were treated to the Deadpool trailer for the trailer and now we finally get the actual trailer from 20th Century Fox.
The eagerly anticipated movie guarantees a superhero movie like you’ve never seen before with plenty of fantastically gratuitous violence and dark humor that pushes the envelope. The red band trailer begins with Wade Wilson receiving an exceedingly grim cancer diagnosis, which prompts him to volunteer for the genetic experimentation program. That’s how the sick individual will be transformed into superhero with the powers to regenerate any destroyed tissue at an unbelievable rate, plus he’s immune to diseases. But there is one drawback as T.J. Miller aptly remarks,“You look like Freddy Kruger facefucked a topographical map of Utah.”
The Merc with a Mouth is also a spectacular marksman as we witness in the trailer, where he kills multiple men with a single headshot. He’s also armed with a sense of humor that refuses to quit, that often breaks down the fourth-wall.
Even the soundtrack is promising with Salt N’ Peppa’s “Shoop” and “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” by the incomparable DMX.
Here’s the green band trailer for those who don’t want to hear salty language.
The trailer was unveiled on Conan, where Ryan Reynolds talked about being the lovable antihero. It turns out that Conan O’Brien was quite familiar with Deadpool even before the big trailer was aired. Apparently Deadpool saved Conan’s life with an intimate massage using panda tears.
Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
