‘Ghostbusters 3’ Is OFFICIALLY Happening
There have been rumors about a Ghostbusters 3 swirling around for years now, but unfortunately it’s been trapped in movie development hell…until now. Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids confirmed today on his Twitter that Ghostbusters 3 is OFFICIALLY happening:
It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.

As for who could potentially be cast in the film, here’s Bill Murray’s hot take:
“Melissa (McCarthy) would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray said, mentioning his latest co-star right off the bat. “And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!”
His wish list doesn’t end there: “I like this (‘Mad Men’s’) Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”
No word yet on whether Murray himself will make an appearance, but with any luck we’ll at least get him as a cameo somewhere in the film. Maybe as a ghost, who knows?
