Ron Burgundy Won’t Host ‘SportsCenter’ After All

“Ron Burgundy's scheduled Thurs. appearance on @SportsCenter has been cancelled in light of the potential implications of any news from the State Attorney's press conference in Fla.,” said ESPN's director of communications David Scott in a statement on Twitter. “As of this time, there is no reschedule date for Ron Burgundy.”

/Sad trombone.

Will Ferrell and David Koechner were slated to do the ol’ Burgundy-Champ Kind bit in a segment presented by Dodge Durango. Everyone’s every selling something, you guys. There’s no such thing as a free funny sports highlight show.

Fans of the fictional newsman can rest easy, though, as THE BURG’S BLITZ on mainstream media marches on. He’s still expected to co-host the final two hours of the Dan Patrick Show this morning.

And if you somehow forgot, Anchorman 2 comes out Dec. 18. That means we have two more weeks of promotion to get through.

Hang in there, fellas.
