Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson strikes me as having two sides to his personality. He seems like a super nice guy who goes out of his way to help others. And he also seems like the kind of guy who has a laser focus when it comes to doing things right. How else do explain his becoming the highest paid actor in Hollywood?
I guess I should also add that he also seems like the kind of guy whose bad side you really wouldn’t ever want to find yourself being on.
Unfortunately for someone, they have now found themselves on that bad side as “The Rock” went off on social media calling some of his co-stars on Fast 8 “candy asses.”
Posting to both Instagram as well as Facebook, Johnson had this to say…
This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.
Bottom line is it’ll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that’s embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part😉. Final week on FAST 8 and I’ll finish strong.

#ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses is my new favorite hashtag now.
So which male co-stars does “The Rock” have a beef with? Well, let’s list them off. The man ones appear to be Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Scott Eastwood.
Surely, Johnson isn’t talking about Vin or Statham, right? Maybe. The Hollywood Reporter did mention awhile back that Diesel was causing some production delays and other issues on the set.
Then again, perhaps it’s Scott Eastwood, son of grouchy old Clint. Eastwood, as has been pointed out on social media, did use the phrase “candy asses” in his recent Esquire interview with his dad. Eastwood also mentioned how everyone else on the set heads back to their trailers after scenes while he sticks around to ask questions.
I guess we’ll probably never find out, but knowing Johnson and his penchant for publicity this whole thing might just be one giant smokescreen and nothing more.
