Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ Just Got Its Music Video Even Though It Came Out 46 Years Ago

It’s reasonable to wonder ‘why now?’ Why, after 46 years, has Sir Elton John just now decided to release an official music video for his legendary song ‘Tiny Dancer’. Furthermore, even though the CD industry is pretty much dead it’s still shocking that ‘Tiny Dancer’ has never been released as an official Single.

My hunch is that Elton John was tired of those pesky youths and their YouTubes taking his song and playing the track over a random picture of Elton John while siphoning up all those views.

There’s nothing at all remarkable about Elton John’s music video for ‘Tiny Dancer’ beyond the fact that it now exists because that in and of itself is remarkable. He’s not even in the music video. In fact, Elton John didn’t even write this song. ‘Tiny Dancer’ was written by Bernie Taupin and it’s about all the incredibly beautiful and captivating women he met while visiting California in 1970.

You don’t have to be an Elton John fan to recognize that this is one of the greatest songs ever written. It’s also one that is frequently misquoted with the lyrics ‘hold me closer, Tiny Dancer’ often sang as ‘hold me closer, Tony Danza’.

Elton John released this ‘official music video’ on his VEVO YouTube channel two days ago, and I figured I’d share it with you bros as a solid way to start your day as we march toward the long holiday weekend.
