Australian-born Chris Hemsworth has become world famous for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is one of the most famous actors on the planet and he’s racked up a personal net worth approaching $100 million.

Recently, Chris Hemsworth was in the news for ruffling his neighbor’s feathers by building a new house in Byron Bay, Australia that’s pretty much the size of a Super Walmart. Seriously, the compound is probably larger than my high school was.

You’d think that by building a house of that scale that Chris Hemsworth would be at a stage in life where he’s starting to settle down, but you’d be wrong. He currently has four films in post or pre-production and he’s already appeared in four projects in 2018. He’s a busy ass man.

So how does Thor maintain his god-like physique when he’s traveling 40+ weeks throughout the year? The father of three says that these days he gets in six 20-minute workouts throughout the week to stay in shape.

He recently sat with Mens Health UK for an interview about how he keeps it tight when he’s always traveling, here’s what he had to say:

“What I’ve been doing lately is a lot of functional training at home with limited equipment,” he says. “I do feel that if you work off a Tabata system or a HIIT style, I find that it makes for such better improvements and with the ease to get the workouts done.”

Tabata, if you’re not up to date, is a variant of HIIT (high intensity interval training), where you push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. This is one considered set. Go for eight sets of each exercise, which can include several bodyweight moves such as press-ups and burpees or more functional exercises such as kettlebell swings, thrusters and more. (via)

Chris Hemsworth has given fans a glimpse at his Tabata routine in the past on Instagram where he’ll share videos of himself working out for 20-minutes a day. As someone who doesn’t do HIIT, it’s absofuckinglutely blowing my mind that you can look like Chris Hemsworth with 20-minutes a day’s work. You can find a rundown on HIIT training there, and more information on Tabata here.

I think we at least need to acknowledge that the man has perfect genetics. Yes, he works out hard. Yes, I’m sure he eats perfectly. But also yes, he and his entire family look like a bunch of Disney princes.
