Here’s The Workout Michael B. Jordan Used To Get Ripped For ‘Creed 2’

Michael B. Jordan plays boxer Adonis Creed in the upcoming boxing movie Creed 2. Thanks to his rigorous fitness program, Jordan has the physique of a bruising light heavyweight fighter. If you want to get the ripped chassis of a Greek god, you can follow Jordan’s workout regimen he used to get jacked for Creed 2.

Jordan already boasted a muscular build as supervillain Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s massively successful Black Panther.

But it appears that MBJ is in even more spectacular shape for Creed II. To get his boxer body, Jordan enlisted the services of celebrity trainer Corey Calliet, who he has been working with since 2015. Calliet has been hired by Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Marvel, MGM, and Universal to help actors transform into the best shape of their lives. Calliet has helped all kinds of celebrities develop their muscles including A$AP Rocky, NBA player Tyreke Evans, John Boyega from Star Wars, and Josh Brolin from Deadpool 2.

Corey, who was a former professional bodybuilder, calls his cutting-edge training style “The Calliet Way” and “pulls from athletic strength and conditioning techniques and professional bodybuilding fundamentals.” But Calliet is not just out here telling people what to do, he has the muscle to back up his mouth. Calliet, who spends about 25 hours a week at the gym, can bench press 515 pounds.

“We time our projects, so we used Killmonger to get ready for Creed II,” Calliet told Men’s Health. “I bulked him up on Killmonger, and then used that bulk to shred him down for Creed II.” Corey’s goal weight for Jordan in Creed 2 was 190 pounds.

“My goal with [Jordan] is to always look better than the last time he was on [screen],” Calliet said. “We always go until we can’t go anymore.”

Jordan needed to be in the best shape of his life because Adonis was taking on Ivan Drago’s son. Viktor Drago is played by 27-year-old Romanian boxer Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu, who stands in at a towering 6’4” and is 245 pounds of sheer muscle.
