What’s up, BroBible? You might notice that my weekly ‘Things We Want‘ gear guide for men got a makeover this week. The new look design is meant to fit more with the style of my daily Everyday Carry Essentials features.

In this new format, I’ll be featuring a handful of standalone items interspersed throughout grids of items that caught my attention throughout the week. Not only will this cut down on load time of the page and make the user experience run better, but it will also allow me to feature more items each week that we all simply must have. As always, if you know of a product that you think should be featured in my weekly Gear Guide then feel free to hit me up via email at cass@brobible.com.

Booker’s Bourbon 2019-01 “Teresa’s Batch”

things we want

The Booker’s Batch releases are, hands down, some of my absolute favorite releases each year. They’ve just debuted the first batch of 2019, Booker’s Teresa’s Batch, and I can’t wait to pour a glass. This will retail for $79.99 and is available nationwide now.

Teresa’s Batch is named in honor of Teresa Wittemer, a Beam distillery employee of 30+ years who worked in the Quality Control department and the lab. She became an expert in mixing bourbon samples to perfection and her 2019 batch lives up to that legacy. It measures 125.9 proof, is aged for 6 years, 3 months, and one day, and carries tasting notes of brown sugar, oak, vanilla, and a sweet/spicy finish.

L’Armor Mariner’s Knife by Au Sabot

Au Sabot L'Armor Mariner's Knife Everyday Carry

Au Sabot is one of the older knife makers still in existence today. Founded in 1870, Au Sabot came of age in the town of Thieres, France which was the knife making capital of Europe at the time with blacksmiths coming from all over to learn their techniques.

The company is still making knives in that town today and the L’Armor Mariner’s Knife is a beautiful tribute to classical styles with modern craftsmanship and materials. The L’Armor knife was formerly known as The London and it’s their take on a 19th century English knife that was famous for being carried by seaman traveling the seven seas.
