The keto diet is one of the more popular diets in recent years. The keto diet is an extremely high fat, low carb, and moderate protein eating plan. The science isn’t settled on if the keto diet can lead to long-term weight loss and there are definitely challenges in maintaining a strict keto diet. Some are suggesting that starting the day with a butter coffee works with a keto diet plan.

One company selling this keto-friendly cup of joe is Grass Fed Coffee. They use Peruvian coffee that is cold-brewed so it is low in acidity, making it easier on your stomach. The coffee gets the fat content from butter made by grass-fed cows. Next, they add Medium Chain Triglycerides, which are extracted from coconut oil. The MCT oils are absorbed rapidly by the body resulting in immediate clean fuel for the brain.

The grass-fed butter slows the absorption of caffeine into the body and prevents energy spikes, jitters, and crashes. Keep in mind that there is a ton of fat in butter coffee, so you should consider it as a meal substitute that also provides caffeine. Also, there is a good deal of cholesterol so if you are already suffering from high levels than this might not be for you.

I tried the Gress Feed butter coffee and it’s got a great taste. There’s a yummy, fatty flavor to it and despite not having any sugar the coffee isn’t bitter at all. For people who have issues with textures, there are specs of butter in coffee even after I shook it thoroughly. I did have plenty of energy after drinking it and I wasn’t jittery. You can try it out for yourself and decide if it works with your keto diet plan.
