Save Over $200 On The Peacoat Daniel Craig Wore As James Bond In ‘Skyfall’

Gentlemen, here’s something all those glossy magazines won’t tell you: Dressing up, as a man, is super easy. Buy a good wool suit, spend some money on getting it properly tailored, especially if it’s off a department store rack. Have a rotation of blazers and Oxford shirts that are always dry-cleaned and pressed in your closet. Throw on a solid or subtly-designed tie that matches your suit every now and then. Match the color of your shoes with your belt. Speaking of shoes: Keep them in tiptop shape. Nothing ruins a dapper fit than a pair of worn-out Oxfords.

TLDR: Do your best to dress as James Bond would.

Don’t overthink it. There are a million ways to steal the look of Ian Fleming’s legendary secret agent.

Daniel Craig has done an excellent job modernizing the 007 aesthetic since his first appearance in 2006’s Casino Royale, from his Omega Seamaster 300 in Sepctre to his Danner ‘007 Tannicus’ Tactical Boots in No Time To Die.

One piece that stands out comes from 2012’s SkyFall, when Daniel Craig’s James Bond stylishly sports a navy Billy Reid peacoat during the Shanghai scenes. The production for the 23rd Bond movie reportedly used 20 coats from the iinternationally-acclaimed Alabama designer: 15 mediums for close-ups and five larges for stunts, reflecting the coat’s versatile design.

As the story goes, Craig ordered a large coat for personal wear after wondering into Billy Reid’s Bond Street boutique in New York City.

The Billy Reid Bond Peacoat normally retails for $798. Right now, however, you can save big on this sophisticated outerwear essential.

For one week only, all Billy Reid men’s and women’s outerwear is 30% off with the code EXTRA30 at checkout. The means you can save $239.4 off the sticker price, snagging this legendary wool peacoat for $558.60 before taxes and shipping.

One person writes as a review, “I love that this is unlined. It makes it wearable in warmer weather. I was able to get sleeves shorten at store in Chicago. Now this coat fits perfectly. Craftsmanship really shows. Material feels great, too. Large fit better, but I wouldn’t be able to layer underneath.”

Another buyer says it’s their “favorite jacket,” claiming it’s “warm, stylish, and comes with a tailored look.”

One adds that it “looks and fits great,” with a “tailored slim look,” noting the “perfect craftsmanship.”

They add some minor gripes: “After wearing it for a few weeks in New England’s fall weather, it’s good for 50 and mid-40ies degree weather. Below that, it’s not going to keep you comfortable, as it has no inner lining, and the cold wind blows through the coat. Winter use will be limited, unfortunately. Lined version for us in the North would be more practical. It does not have any inner pockets. At least one inner pocket for a phone would be highly appreciated. 5 stars for looks, and 3 for practicality, averaging as 4 stars.”

The lack of an inner pocket makes you wonder where a special agent would keep their PP7, doesn’t it? I assume his piece would be on an inner pocket instead of the outer hand warmer pockets?

Finally, one buyer claims that this jacket is “the most special thing in my wardrobe, truly beautiful piece and well worth the money.”
