Nike’s Re-Releasing The Air Jordan 9s Tomorrow Morning (Sep. 19), So Don’t Miss Out!

We’ve got a little more than a week left in the MLB regular season, and I would describe my current outlook on the Yankees as “stressed and frustrated beyond all recognition.” That sounds dramatic, but it’s become par for the course for the last few years. There are one too many flaws in this roster, Aaron Judge is banged up, and the Rays have decided to stop losing. I’m just going to hope for the best, enjoy the ride, and appreciate having baseball on the calendar. You know who else always appreciated baseball even when it was difficult? Mr. Michael Jordan, whose Air Jordan 9s were inspired by his cleats during his brief foray into minor league baseball.

It’s been 30+ years, and it’s been covered to death, but MJ leaving basketball at the height of his powers to try his hand at baseball is still bananas. Imagine if LeBron had left the Miami Heat after his championship run and was puttering around the minors for two years? He could never. And he certainly wouldn’t have had catchers tipping off the pitches to him out of respect like Michael had in Space Jam.

By the way, this Air Jordan 9 re-release comes in a “Tune Squad” box:

I don’t even care if this is millennial pandering. Now I’m going to have to watch Space Jam this weekend to scratch the itch.
