Now we already know that the kids from Stranger Things are pretty fun to follow on social media because, well, they’re kids and they’re funny.

We also know that cool science teacher Mr. Clarke, actor Randy Havens, is rather different in real life thanks to his Instagram account.

Annnd we know that Nancy Wheeler, actress Natalia Dyer, at least at the moment, looks pretty much nothing like her character on Stranger Things.

Then there’s Chief Hopper, played by David Harbour. He’s an absolute treasure to follow on social media these days.

So, because of all of that, I got to thinking… who else from Stranger Things might be good to check out on social media? Well, since discovering that Nancy looks so different now than she does on the show I thought, “Hey, I wonder how different her mom Karen looks in real life?”

Turns out that actress who plays Karen Wheeler, Cara Buono, looks quite a bit the same only, you know, she doesn’t look like she’s living in the 1980s. That’s a compliment, by the way.

In fact, come to find out, the 46-year-old Buono, who has been acting professionally since 1992 on shows like Mad Men, The Sopranos, Third Watch, and tons more, recently did an interview and photo shoot for Regard magazine. Gotta strike while the iron is hot, you know?

In the interview, Buono said that when she read the script for Stranger Things she called her agent and said, “I need to be a part of this show, whether it’s the first season or the fourth season. She says that while she loved the writing and the characters she also had a gut feeling. Turns out she was even more right than she probably imagined.

Here’s a look at some of the pics from her photo shoot with Regard as well as some other fun stuff she’s shared on Instagram…
