Fighter finally gets UFC contract, forced to retire immediately

Steve Bosse finally got the call up to fight with the big boys. He was ready. Too bad his body wasn’t.

The 32-year-old Canadian MMA fighter was scheduled to make his UFC debut against Ryan Jimmo. Bosse already had a 10-1 pro-record and seemed ready to make a statement.

Then his shoulder crapped out. Bosse was forced to not only cancel the match but retire from the sport.

“My body is talking to me. It’s time that I make the right decision. When I started in hockey, I had rage in me. This sport helped me channel that. It was my therapy. Today, that rage is no longer in me. Today, I’m doing well. I don’t feel the need to fight anymore, to go make war.”

Really? It seems the rage would be with his bum shoulder.
