An Air Force fighter jet has crashed just outside of Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning.
The pilot ejected before the aircraft went down in Clinton, Maryland and parachuted to the ground safely. Emergency services have located him and he is doing fine.
The downed plane is believed to be an F-16, which was on a routine training mission before crashing.
The jet is from the D.C. Air National Guard’s 113th Fighter Wing out of Joint Base Andrews, which is two miles north of where the plane crashed.
Some homes near the crash are reportedly on fire.
Roads near the surrounding area have been closed.
