Are You Ready for the MySpace Comeback?

MySpace is BACK. And while Tom isn't along for the ride—too busy burning people on Twitter—Justin Timberlake and around 36 million people are, representing an increase of 15 million since the social network re-launched back in January. The founders claim today that a focus on music-related original production (an Elliot Wilson-led interview show called CRWN , another hip-hop show, Live from the Log Cabin) is responsible for the slow and steady growth.

From The Next Web:

Earlier this year, Myspace relaunched its once-dominant social network with a massive redesign to attract new and former users. Today, the company revealed that its user base has now hit 36 million, up from 24 million prior to the reboot in January.

Myspace hit 31 million users just two weeks after its beta period ended, triggering a slow-down in sign-ups over the summer.

It’s still roughly 1.09 billion users behind Facebook. But still: Myspace! Back! Kind of! It’s 2004 all over again. Crunk music, The O.C., John Kerry. What a magical time.
